Edward M. Kilpatrick is the Vice President of Analytics for The BOLI Group, a role that includes carrier interface, design and modeling of placements. In addition, he also performs carrier analytics, carrier underwriting, is liaison for product development, generates educational language, heads The BOLI Group research team, and assembles financial reports (including income statement, balance sheet and other pro forma information). Ed has experience with institutional bank owned, corporate owned, and insurance company owned products (BOLI, COLI, and ICOLI), along with working with the insurance carriers. Ed is frequently called upon to discuss carrier attributes, and how they may or may not fit the needs and objectives of the client. What he values most in his role with The BOLI Group is the ability to put ideas to work that can have a positive impact.
Ed’s background is based in the life insurance industry, beginning over 20 years ago in the home office of the largest life insurance company in the U.S (by market share). Beginning as a plan analyst, he became a resource on technical planning issues and estate planning, and ultimately joined the non‐qualified plan market team to work on advanced Bank and Corporate markets cases. Ed’s knowledge of product design led him to become the subject matter expert (SME) for whole life and universal life product offerings, and corporate and bank owned life insurance products. Ed also led the corporate institutional sales process for single pay COLI & ICOLI sales, where he worked with the company’s largest clients. Mr. Kilpatrick’s expertise was utilized as a trainer with a 6,000+ agent field force, and he is still asked to speak on his perspective at select company events.
Mr. Kilpatrick holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin‐ Milwaukee. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Fellow of Life Management Institute (FLMI). Ed is a Registered Representative with FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), holds his Series 6 and 63 securities licenses and is a licensed insurance representative.
Ed is an advocate for Cystic Fibrosis fundraising, is on the board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Wisconsin and is on the planning committee for the CF “Breath of Life” Gala, held annually to raise money for the CF Foundation. Ed resides in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area with his wife and three children.
